A concert has been put together and will include performances by The Conquerors Quartet from Evansville, Indiana and Southern Sound from Nashville, Tennessee. The Childress Family will also be there to sing a few songs and it is the plan for Shannon to be there to share some of his testimony with you. Maybe we can convince him to sing something too. The concert will take place at the Grapevine Baptist Church, 85 Sandcut Road, Madisonville, Kentucky on Friday, March 12 at 7:00 pm (CT). We hope you will make plans to attend and share the evening of praise with us.

Pilobolus Dance Theatre began in 1971 as an outsider dance company, and quickly became renowned the world over for its imaginative and athletic exploration of creative collaboration. Adventure Pennyrile Forest offers a naturalist guided hike in 2010. Hike half of the Pennyrile Nature Trail for a registration fee of $12 per person. Registration fee includes: transportation, a bottle of water, snack and a Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park Patch. Registered participants can get a 10% discount off park lodging. The hike is in Pennyrile State Forest and Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park and is over 6 miles. The trail rating is difficult. For more info, call 270-797-3421.

Enjoy a weekend of learning about reptiles and amphibians of the Pennyrile Forest Region. Murray State University’s Herpetology Professor, Dr Ed. Zimmerer will do a presentation about local species on Friday Night and take the group out on Pennyrile State Forest Saturday and Sunday for herping field trips. Saturday night Scott Shupe will present a program on the World of Reptiles which will showcase reptiles that are not found in the United States. Registration fees are as follows: $10 single rate, $20 family rate, $40 group rate (groups of 10 or more)

We strive to not only put on a good contest, but also to present information that will help participants become better photographers. The contest boundaries are the boundaries of Pennyrile State Forest. Photographs may be taken anywhere within the state park and state forest. The categories of the contest vary, but they will always have a nature emphasis examples are wildlife, landscape, water. Bring your own camera. Registration is $35. Register at least one week before the event and get a $5 discount. Children 16 and under pay just $10. 10% discount on lodging available.
