Louisville-based Coco Yam Band performs world music encompassing Afro-pop, Latin, Reggae, Highlife, Afrobeat and some R&B too! They begin their world travelogue with a mid tempo West African instrumental. Then, over the course of several songs, they raise the temperature with mighty horns, melodic vocals, driving percussion and interlocking guitar parts; all propped up by a rhythmic foundation of bass, keyboards and drums. As their world tour of music winds down, so does the tempo. But, the encore is always a fun "raise the roof" level song to leave everyone smiling. 270-821-2787 Tickets: $18 ....detail
